Description
Gulal Gota is a traditional art form from Jaipur, mainly used during the festival of Holi. These are small, lightweight lacquer balls filled with dry colored powder (gulal). During Holi, people throw them at each other, creating a burst of vibrant colors.
This tradition dates back about 400 years and was initially started by Jaipur's royal family. Skilled Muslim artisans crafted these lacquer balls specifically for the royal Holi celebrations.
